Garrett Lee Smith Campus Suicide Prevention - Mississippi State University will implement Bulldogs RISE (Resilience, Intervention, Screening, and Engagement), a four-year campus-wide suicide prevention initiative serving all 23,563 students, predominantly ages 18–25, in Starkville, Mississippi. Strategies include an annually updated needs assessment; voluntary campus-wide screening with warm referral and 14-day follow-up by a Student Care Coordinator; stakeholder collaboration; an integrated crisis and referral network with 988 promotion, crisis response and postvention plans, and provider agreements; coordinated prevention supports; evidence-based Alliance Project, CAMS, and Project Safe Guard trainings; awareness campaigns; and voluntary lethal means safety programming. Annually, Bulldogs RISE will screen 500+ students, refer 100+ with documented follow-up contact attempts for all referred students, connect 75+ to services, train 400+, reach 12,000+ with awareness messaging, and support 15 stipended peer educators. Over four years, the project will screen 2,000+ unique students, refer 400+, connect 300+ to services, and train 1,600+.
