Project HEALINGSHealing through Education, Accessibility, along with Language-appropriate Information to Navigate Government Systems - Asian Media Access (AMA) will implement Project HEALINGS (Healing through Education, Accessibility, along with Language-appropriate Information to Navigate Government Systems) in Minneapolis, with training, resource distribution, and public awareness extending through its network across all 7 metro counties. The project will train school staff, first responders, and community organization staff to recognize mental health, crisis, and substance use concerns, safely de-escalate crises, and connect residents to care, with priority outreach to trusted Asian American and Pacific Islander adults serving seniors and youth and to neighborhoods reporting heightened mental health needs. Within 4 months, AMA will finalize an evidence-based training plan covering mental health awareness, crisis de-escalation, and suicide prevention. By September 29, 2029, the Center for Wellness Technology will train 150 members—30 in Year 1 and 60 in each of Years 2 and 3—on mental health, crisis, and substance use signs, including cannabis impairment, and referral pathways, including 988. AMA will also distribute at least 30 written or electronic resource materials, conduct quarterly outreach, engagement, and referral activities reaching more than 3,060 members, sustain a multilingual, multiculturally responsive public awareness campaign reaching 20,000 people, and formalize partnerships with A Healing Place at Veritas and 20 additional multisectoral organizations.
