Project REACH (Referral, Education, Awareness, and Care Coordination for Mental Health) - The Asian Health Coalition will implement Project REACH (Referral, Education, Awareness, and Care Coordination for Mental Health) in Cook County, Illinois, with 6 community-based organizations and 3 Federally Qualified Health Centers. The 3-year project will strengthen mental health literacy, crisis response, suicide prevention, outreach, and referral coordination for community organization staff, school personnel, parents and caregivers, youth, and other trusted community members. Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, Question, Persuade, Refer, and Awareness, Interaction, Direction training will prepare participants to recognize and respond to mental health concerns and crises and connect people to appropriate services. Project REACH will train at least 450 participants and deliver 27 Ask the Expert virtual learning sessions. It will develop at least 12 written and electronic mental health, suicide prevention, crisis-support, and resource materials; conduct at least 12 social media campaigns reaching at least 10,000 community members; and participate in at least 36 outreach events reaching at least 1,500 people. The project will provide mental health information and resources to at least 1,000 community members identified as experiencing or at risk for mental health challenges and refer at least 100 people to behavioral health and related services through structured pathways.
