Building the CUW Behavioral Health Model: A Comprehensive System of Care for Student Well-Being, Suicide Prevention, and Student Success - Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) will expand Behavioral Health Access across a student body of approximately 4,577 through coordinated early identification, timely intervention, suicide prevention, and care coordination. The project will fund a Behavioral Health Access & Care Coordinator to strengthen intake, triage, case management, safety planning, follow-up, referral coordination, and return-to-campus support. Additional strategies include expanding Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) gatekeeper training, peer support and campus outreach, collaboration with Student Health Services and community behavioral health providers, and professional development for faculty, staff, graduate interns, and behavioral health professionals. Each year, approximately 175 students will be directly served through Behavioral Health Access assessments and coordinated case management, more than 300 students will receive counseling and follow-up services, and approximately 300 students, faculty, and staff will receive evidence-based suicide prevention training. Over four years, the project will directly serve approximately 700 students through Behavioral Health Access, provide behavioral health services to more than 1,200 students, and train approximately 1,200 campus community members to improve timely access, suicide prevention and intervention, and coordination of care.
