We know that there are many gaps in services and that there is a real need for intervention and implementation of preventive measures to decrease rates of substance abuse and suicide rates.
TMO will successfully achieve success by ensuring meeting the following goals:
#1. Serve as a catalyst to multi-agency systemic change that is based on trauma-informed care principles for coordinated mental health treatment and wellness services to Turtle Mountain children, youth and families.
#2. Increase the capacity of Turtle Mountain families experiencing mental health-related concerns access to resources.
#3. Increase the number of Turtle Mountain community members and stakeholders trained in mental health-related practices/activities
TMO, partners and Community Advisory members will work together to plan and design a family-driven, community-based and culturally competent system of care for program participants. Our program design with provide supports for children and youth with or at risk for mental health or other challenges, and their families that will ensure a coordinated network, address cultural needs with the end result of being able to function better at home, in school and throughout life. Additionally, our program will be designed to increase resilience and improve emotional health for our children and youth.
