Project Name: Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Child and Youth Trauma Services Program Target Population: American Indian children/youth, ages 3-18, and their families who have experienced trauma and who reside on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. Goal: The Child and Youth Trauma Services Program will improve the quality of trauma treatment and services for children, youth, and their families who experience or witness traumatic events; and increase access to effective trauma-focused treatment and services for children, youth and their families throughout the Flathead Indian Nation. Strategies/Interventions: 1) Conduct outreach and other engagement strategies to increase participation in, and access to, trauma treatment and services; and prevention services for children/youth, and families who have experienced traumatic events. 2) Provide direct trauma treatment and services to these children/youth and their families. 3) Provide counseling/care management to support the success of these children/youth and their families in achieving program outcomes. 4) Provide trauma-informed training to professionals to develop their expertise in delivering trauma-informed treatment to additional children/youth and their families in service systems throughout the service area. 5) Collaborate with NCTSI-Category II Treatment and Service Adaptation (TSA) centers to develop, advance, or adapt interventions to improve engagement and outcomes for traumatized youth. 6) Evaluate the program's impacts.
