Louisiana Resilience is a capacity building initiative dedicated to supporting the mental health needs of youth in Ouachita Parish. Given the unprecedented scope of the 2020 hurricane season and COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with everyday challenges, many youth in our community would benefit from enhanced resilience-building activities and mental health information and services. This initiative seeks to build capacity by bringing together a network of local school and community partners to take part in mental health awareness training and to work together in developing and implementing a community-wide awareness and psychoeducation campaign. The initiative will also seek to enhance connections between youth in need of mental health services with local service providers.
