Stark County System of Care Expansion & Sustainability Project - The proposed project will increase access to and improve the quality of services and supports available to Stark County youth and families with or at-risk for SED. The StarkMHAR SOC team intends to continue addressing the identified needs of children, youth and families at highest risk for residential treatment, hospitalization, incarceration, and death; and expand and enhance current system access to services and supports. The goals and objectives are informed by the organization’s strategic plan, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services approved community plan, recommendations from the site visit team and results from two community assessments conducted by the University of Cincinnati. They include: expansion of youth mobile response services; increased family and youth peer support; co-location of behavioral health services within the local Children Services, Family Court and Developmental Disabilities systems, as well as in two pediatric practices; and the creation of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Youth, young adults, family members, behavioral health providers, cross-system/community partners and consultants have participated throughout the current project and will continue to be engaged. The proposed program prioritizes those goals and objectives most critical to improving outcomes for the community’s highest need children, youth and families; and most essential to building a local infrastructure that encourages and promotes accessible, trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically competent services and supports.
