The Community Mental Health Surveillance Collaborative will engage Central Texas health care providers and policymakers to improve mental health in the region through data-driven, culturally appropriate, and cost-effective mental health services and tools. Researchers at Texas State University will develop and implement a community mental health surveillance dashboard and map with the following components: (1) an integrative data analytics dashboard and service map to visualize and forecast local mental health trends, local resources, and health disparities in the area; (2) a community stakeholders group that will provide critical insights into the exact data needed to make the project useful to address changing mental health issues in Central Texas, 3) A mental health data training program to support data-driven mental health interventions for at-risk groups such as veterans, first responders, and healthcare providers; and (4) a searchable online resource directory of local mental health and substance use service providers
