Ryan White Part C Outpatient EIS Program - Project Abstract Project Title: Boulder Community Health/Beacon Center for Infectious Disease Ryan White Part C HIV EIS- Existing Geographic Service Areas Applicant Name: Boulder Community Health/ Beacon Center for Infectious Disease Address: 4800 Riverbend Road -Boulder, Colorado 80303 Contact: Ellen Tucker (p) 303-415-8835 (f) 303-415-8870 etucker@bch.org https://www.bch.org Funds Requested: $442,053.00 HIV and the Population in the BCID Service Area: BCID Part C service area is comprised of 6 Colorado counties; Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Larimer, and Weld. The service area has a diverse geographical region that covers nearly 8,000 square miles in Colorado and a population of approximately 1,148,977 people. This area is comprised of a mix of Urban and Rural communities. All individuals residing within this service area who are HIV positive and those at risk for contracting HIV infection are considered the target populations and along with sub populations of people who identify as People of Color and MSM. As of, December 31, 2023 the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment estimates that there are 1,341 individuals currently living with HIV in the BCID service area. Of these individuals, 841 identify as White, 314 Hispanic/Latino/a/x, 124 Black or African American, 36 and as American Indian, Alaskan Native, or Asian Other. Care and Services at BCID: BCID has been providing comprehensive care to individuals living with HIV and AIDS since 1995. In 2004, BCID began receiving Ryan White Part C funding. Since that time, BCID has continued to offer EIS, CORE Medical and Support Services as defined by the RWHAP Part C Grant Programs along with primary care. BCID also provides Hepatitis C treatment, PREP education and navigation services along with PREP medical care. Hepatitis C and PrEP medical care are not funded by Ryan White Part C. In 2023, BCID provided medical care for 418 unduplicated patients. Of these individuals, 145 come from communities of color. 278 individuals in the patient population identify as MSM with 342 identifying as male, 66 identifying as female, and 10 as transgender. Care continues to be provided to these individuals in close collaboration with community partners such as Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) and Northern Colorado Health Network (NCHN). BCID is requesting $442,053.00 in federal Ryan White Part C Funds in order to continue all of the above mentioned medical and support services people living with HIV and at risk for HIV in our service area.
