Funding requested in this application, $425,594 is to support the salaries of key clinical providers, oral health care, clinical quality management (including travel for HIV education), and the Part C Project Director. The final objectives for the project period include serving 640 people with HIV including linking five newly diagnosed to care in one month each year. Oral health care to be provided to 186 clients by the end of the project period. The agency provides primary care, HIV disease management, medication cost assistance, medical case management, non-medical case management, referral for health care support, medication adherence assistance, housing assistance, medical transportation, food bank, medical nutritional therapy, emergency financial assistance, oral health care assistance, support for substance use counseling and treatment, support for mental health treatment, psychosocial support, HIV testing and counseling, a support group, community education, and outreach. The indigent, people of color, men who have sex with men, and Black/African American females and males are disproportionately affected by HIV in Brevard County. Brevard’s epidemiologic profile for 2022 reported 1,877 residents living with HIV. Of those, 35% were Black/African American, and 12% were Hispanic. Male to male sexual contact (MMSC) comprise 49% of HIV positive males in the service area. Only 31% of patients were female. In 2022, of the 681 clients identified in our Ryan White Service Report (RSR) as being served by the clinic and case management services, 46% were Black/African American, and 14% were Hispanic. MMSC patients of the clinic comprise 54% of male patients. Florida Health Charts reported in 2022 that 13% of Brevard County residents lived below 100% poverty level, while 51% of the agency’s patients were living below 100% of the poverty level in 2022. Comprehensive Health Care intends to continue to offer all of the prementioned services and to expand services as well. The agency continues to increase and improve outreach efforts. The quality management objective is to have 99% of all patients receive antiretroviral therapy with 91% reaching viral suppression by the end of the project.
