The project proposes a competing, but a continuation, of funding for the Community-Based Dental Partnership Program (CBDPP) for the project period 2024-2028 with the collaborating partners of the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD), the SAC Health (SACH), and the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (DPH). The collaboration provides oral health care to underserved people with HIV (PWH) and trains dental students, dental hygiene students, and graduate dental residents on managing the oral health care of PWH. The CBDPP is funded under Part F of the Ryan White Program. The funds are for clinical care are to be used as a payer of last resort and those receiving such care must meet established eligibility requirements. Target Population The service area is the Riverside/San Bernardino, California Transitional Grant Area (TGA). Goals and Objectives The two major goals of the program are to 1) train dental students, dental hygiene students and dental residents in the issues of providing care for PWH and 2) to increase access to dental care for PWH in underserved areas. The project Work Plan addresses the five-year project period.
