This program is support the Arkansas Poison and Drug Information Center (APDIC) by providing funding for staff and public education support. Resources: The APDIC provides poison information to the entire state of Arkansas. It also provides healthcare recommendations to both the public and state healthcare professionals. This program provides free to the public 24/7 support. The APDIC is staffed by pharmacists, nurses, and physicians. It is located within the UAMS College of Pharmacy in Little Rock, Arkansas. Need: Salary support for the public educator and a portion of the salary for an overnight shift. A small amount is also used for travel to the Poison Center Leadership Meeting each year for the director and medical director. Approach: Annually the APDIC attempts to reach 800,000 plus Arkansans with poison prevention information as well as information for contacting the center.
