Fax: 303-739-1456 E-Mail Address: sbanerji@rmpdc.org Web Site Address: www.rmpdc.org Grant Funds Requested: $3,945,775 Abstract The Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Center (RMPDC) is a division of Denver Health and Hospital Authority, Denver, Colorado. Founded in 1956, RMPC is the regional poison center for Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, and Nevada. RMPC is an accredited regional poison center by the American Association of Poison Control centers. It has been continuously accredited since the inception of the accreditation program. In 2023, RMPDC provided poison help to 107,901 callers. Data from all calls is uploaded every 10 minutes to the National Poison Data System (NPDS). The center works closely with each of the state health department it serves. Telephones are answered by 22 specialists in poison information (SPIs) 24/7 via the national tool free line 1.800.222.1222. Medical toxicology consultation is also provided to the SPIs and health care provider callers 24/7 by the centers medical toxicology fellows and 25 board certified medical toxicologists. The purpose of this grant is to allow the center to continue to provide this service for our four state regions. Funding in the amount of $747,527 is requested to allow RMPDC to continue its mission of “Saving Lives with Answers.” All funding will be used to maintain center staffing and continue our status as an accredited regional poison center.
