The Copper River Native Association (CRNA) is urgently seeking funding through the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COIPP) Grant to address the escalating opioid crisis in the Copper River Basin. This transformative project aims to implement a culturally aligned prevention, treatment, recovery, and aftercare program designed specifically for the Ahtna people. The multifaceted approach includes community awareness campaigns, expansion of culturally aligned Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, building dynamic support systems for Native families, strengthening community partnerships, integrating telehealth solutions, empowering community-led prevention, and ensuring continuous learning and adaptation.
A crucial element of this initiative is the addition of an on-site pharmacist specializing in MAT services. The MAT pharmacist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of MAT programs, providing valuable expertise in medication management and contributing to the overall success of the project. Their involvement will enhance medication safety, adherence, and treatment outcomes, fostering a more comprehensive and effective response to opioid addiction in the Copper River Region. The inclusion of a MAT pharmacist aligns with the project's commitment to excellence in care, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical services and optimizing the impact of MAT interventions on community well-being.
