The goals of the project are to increase public awareness and education in opioid use prevention; increase access to medication assisted treatment (MAT), and create comprehensive support teams to strengthen and empower American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) families. SNAHC’s proposed project will involve further development of its in-house MAT infrastructure and programming, training healthcare providers on the delivery of culturally appropriate MAT services, and disseminating MAT and opioid use prevention materials to our organization and other partners to strengthen the system of care around AI/AN individuals and their families. The project will also enable SNAHC to support training of AI/AN patients, family members, and Sacramento County residents on naloxone to prevent opioid overdose deaths.
