For fiscal year 2023, the Diabetes Treatment and Prevention Program of Ketchikan Indian Community, a federally recognized Tribe located in Ketchikan, AK, has chosen to implement the Best Practice of Physical Activity Education to help reduce the risk for developing diabetes and its complications. This Best Practice was selected to alleviate the burden of diabetes in the community because program audit reports revealed there was a sharp decrease in the number and percentage of individuals in the Target Group who received Physical Activity Education.
