The Quechan Indian Tribe is looking to establish a Clinical/Wellness/Tribal Program to help in the prevention of Diabetes among its members. In collaboration with the local Indian Health Service Unit (Fort Yuma Health Clinic) we will be establishing a program that will allow a target group (between ages 30 - 60 years of age) to monitored and followed within the clinic and outsourced for further outreach with the Quechan Wellness Center. A fitness regimen, sessions on nutrition, education on medication, education on preventing complications will be established. The SDPI program will be following and monitoring 50 clients.
