HBH proposes to continue serving Illinois’ Cook, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties, specializing in care for the LGBTQ population and people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Part D Program serving Women, Infants, Children, and Youth (WICY). HBH’s HIV services prioritize a broad range of individuals living with HIV, including transgender and gender-non-conforming (TGNC) individuals, and women, particularly women of color and transgender women. Howard Brown Health Center (HBH) is a leader in the Midwest for the provision of comprehensive, culturally affirming ambulatory care to people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer/questioning (LGBTQ) and the surrounding community. As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), HBH is committed to serving people who are un- or underinsured, low-income, or who face other barriers to care. HBH has been a nationally recognized leader in the provision of community-based medical care for people living with HIV/AIDS since the epidemic began and has been a Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) grantee since 1996.
