Project title not provided - The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), the only academic health sciences center in Arkansas, will use federal funds under this Congressionally directed award to acquire equipment for life support vans, mobile care clinics, telemedicine equipment, and supplies for prenatal care, together with a mobile care support fleet that directly supports the mobile care clinic mission. UAMS will deploy eight (8) mini vans for mobile and offsite Centering Pregnancy group prenatal care in maternal care desert counties, equipping each unit with a durable equipment package containing imaging, fetal monitoring, vital-signs, point-of-care testing, emergency response, cold-chain, and patient-facing technology equipment. Forty-five of Arkansas' 75 counties are maternal care deserts; the State ranks worst in the nation for maternal mortality and third worst for infant mortality. The mobile care clinics will partner with Community-Based Organizations, Faith-Based Organizations, and Arkansas Department of Health County Health Units to deliver evidence-based group prenatal care. The program will also distribute 2,500 wireless blood pressure monitors for self-measured blood pressure monitoring and 200 Infant CPR Training Kits to enrolled families. Two basic life support (BLS) and two advanced life support (ALS) service vans will provide UAMS-operated inter-facility patient transport for rural Arkansans receiving stroke, cancer, cardiac, trauma, high-risk obstetric, and other time-sensitive care. A mobile care support fleet of five specialty vehicles will provide regional patient transport, pharmacy delivery to rural mobile clinic sites, simulation laboratory transport for rural workforce training, primary care house calls, and mobile clinic security operations. Moveable equipment items exceed $10,000 per unit; durable items below the $10,000 threshold are budgeted as equipment on SF-424C Line 10 per the HRSA-26-107 NOFO. No funds will be used for construction, fixed equipment, personnel, or indirect costs. Property will be managed under 2 CFR 200.313 and reported via SF-428 at closeout.
