Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending - Non-Construction - The City of Talladega, AL is requesting necessary financial assistance through this FY24 CDS funding request to provide the City with a critical, one-time, meaningful investment to start its own ambulance service for City residents. The request includes the costs of three (3) ambulance vehicles, durable medical equipment, disposable medical supplies, and 12 months’ worth of salaries & benefits for 12 paramedics, associated training and licensure costs, fuel, and other necessary costs, such as liability insurance, fees, malpractice insurance, etc. The project, as described, would be a 911 emergency service only, meaning the units would respond in our current jurisdiction only, and would provide advanced life support and transport to the hospital.
