Unintentional Elder fall related injuries are a leading cause of hospitalizations in American Indians and Alaskan Native communities. Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries. Implementation of prevention and modification strategies, some new and some currently in place with current programming will be a focus of this project. Strategies for the project will include home safety assessments with modifications, exercise programs for elders, elder fall community outreach and education including medication management, and fall/injury related questionnaires.
