Bakersfield American Indian Health Project (BAIHP) submits this proposal for the Part II, Tribal Injury Prevention Cooperative Agreement Program (TIPCAP) to develop an elder fall prevention program for the AIAN community in Bakersfield. The “Building Elders Strength to Thrive” (BEST) program will target the key elements to preventing elder falls: offering evidence-based exercise interventions to increase balance and strength, and incorporating home assessments to identify modifications and safety measures needed to prevent fall risks.
