Benteh Wellness Center (BWC) is a community behavioral health center located in the Matanuska-Susitna (Mat-Su) Valley in Alaska, established by the Knik Tribe Behavioral Health Department in 2021 in response to high rates of youth mental health needs. BWC has become a cornerstone of service delivery, providing therapy, case management, and skill building services. As BWC continues to evolve, critical health management infrastructure support is needed to strengthen operational stability and sustainability to ensure the organization can meet the needs of Mat-Su Valley children, youth, and their families. BWC currently provides services to Mat-Su Valley youth and families, especially Medicaid-eligible participants.
The purpose of this 3-year project is to strengthen Benteh Wellness Center’s health management infrastructure by improving the capture of data to better report and evaluate programs and operations. Knik Tribe (BWC) will enhance its tribal management capacity to prepare for expanded programs, functions, services, and activities in the service area through this project to improve technology solutions, streamline quality improvement processes and increase participant and staff input and feedback to meet key performance goals.
