Human Resources Capacity Building Project - The Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) owns and operates three rural community health clinics in Anchor Point, Homer, and Seldovia, Alaska, under SVT Health & Wellness (SVTHW). Our centers provide integrated primary and preventive health care, dental and behavioral health services for these communities and their surrounding areas. We are proud to serve and target the low-income, uninsured, underinsured, Alaska Native, American Indian, Russian "Old Believer," and any other population that may have difficulty accessing care. Overall this project will ensure quality healthcare and safety for our patients through recruitment, enrichment, and the retention of a quality workforce. While the emphasis of this project is on building the SVT Human Resources Department's capacity, SVT leadership understands that attracting and retaining quality employees equals success for everyone, including the patients and their families. We anticipate this capacity-building project will enable SVT to be a competitive employer in Alaska and bring qualified and experienced staff to be a part of the SVT team. The completion of a current market-based pay structure and a compliance-driven pre-employment screening and background check will in overall changes in the SVT payment structure, ensuring competitive salaries, and fair compensation among similar job categories. The fully integrated human resource systems SVT will reduce the time-to-fill rate by 10% by the end of the project. Our target for the SVT Health & Wellness turnover rate goal is 21%, an industry standard for healthcare. SVT requests $300,000 over three years under the Health Management Structure project type, Priority III. The Project Coordinator and the Project Team will work together to ensure the project's goals and objectives are met. The Project Coordinator will assist in the coordination, development, and implementation of the project deliverables.
