Foundation Communities, Inc. (FC) is the applicant/administrative agency on behalf of proposed cross-sectorial partnerships meant to examine the relationship between the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and risk of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in the proposed area. The purpose of The Austin PACES Project: Preventing ACES through Collaboration and Economic Supports is to increase the percent of people receiving EITC, thereby increasing protective factors against ACEs. The geographic catchment area for the proposed project is Austin, Travis County, Texas. The project proposes a population of focus being families with young children that live in the Austin’s Eastern Crescent (an area bordering Austin’s urban core to the north, northeast, east, southeast, and south), where research has shown a pattern of child maltreatment, a large percentage of families in poverty, a large percentage of families of color, and an increasing number of displaced families due to gentrification. FC is seeking $372,555 per year for three years to accomplish the following objectives: 1: Formalize multi-sectoral partnerships to support ACEs education and EITC outreach to families with young children in Austin’s Eastern Crescent 2: Plan and implement EITC outreach and community engagement strategies with partners for families with young children in Austin’s Eastern Crescent 3: Develop and implement a process and outcome evaluation plan to identify the effectiveness of EITC outreach on ACEs risks and protective factors, using data to monitor and evaluate the project throughout 4: Communicate and disseminate findings, successes, and lessons learned on a national scale
