Congressionally Directed Spending for Construction Projects - Codman Square Health Center (CSHC) is applying for the Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending (CPF/CDS) (HRSA-24-110) funding. The proposed project, "Enhancing Patient Care through Clinical Equipment," will run from September 30, 2024, to September 29, 2027. Since 1979, CSHC has provided essential health services to the Dorchester community and beyond, serving a patient base of approximately 24,000. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), CSHC is committed to improving community health by addressing significant disparities in healthcare. The project aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services at CSHC by acquiring advanced clinical equipment for the eye care, radiology, nursing, dental, and maternal health departments. The total funding request for this project is $179,000. By modernizing and expanding our clinical equipment, CSHC will improve diagnostic accuracy, treatment effectiveness, and overall patient care quality, thereby significantly impacting the health and well-being of the Dorchester community. This initiative aligns with CPF/CDS funding objectives by addressing critical healthcare needs in the community, ensuring residents have access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and services, and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare delivery. This project will significantly bolster CSHC's capacity to serve its diverse and underserved patient population, ultimately leading to better health outcomes and reduced healthcare disparities in the Dorchester area.
