Drawer L, Seldovia, Alaska 99663 Project Director Name: Crystal Collier Contact Phone Number: 907-435-3265 E-mail: ccollier@svt.org Website Address: www.svthw.org Fund requested: $633,000.00 The Homer Health Center Expansion Project includes new construction and renovation of the Seldovia Village Tribe's health facility in Homer, Alaska. The overall objective of this project is to expand and diversify affordable care in our communities. We strive to improve the health of all people in our community by providing quality, respectful, caring, and culturally appropriate primary, holistic and preventative care. Our care focuses on low-income, uninsured, underinsured, Alaska Native, American Indian, Russian "Old Believers," and any other population that may have difficulty accessing health and wellness services in the area. Over the last decade, we have identified an increased demand for integrative health and wellness services and current gaps in our scope of work: physical therapy, dental services, and connections through our community health and wellness education sessions. With this project, we will respond to the community's needs by 1) adding an area for physiotherapy services, 2) expanding the dental department to serve more patients who need affordable dental care, and 3) creating a designated space for community connection activities/health education, community acupuncture, and nutritional infusions.
