Located adjacent to the Washoe County-operated Cares Campus (the community’s homeless shelter), along with providing community members with access to low-barrier and affordable primary care and chronic disease management services, the new clinic will offer a same-day clinic, intensive outpatient behavioral health programming (the only in the region to provide this program to Medicaid patients), expanded behavioral health services and Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid and alcohol users. Services will be offered on a sliding fee scale and not denied due to an inability to pay or insurance status. It is estimated that of the 12,000 individuals served at the new health center 25% will be individuals experiencing homelessness.
