(GHC or Genesis) is a non-profit organization operating multiple Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) within South Carolina, with a mission to provide timely, affordable, compassionate, and high-quality primary and preventive medical care and pharmaceutical services to the underserved economically and culturally diverse communities within South. Historically, Colleton, Hampton, and Allendale counties are the most underserved areas within the state of South Carolina. Genesis’s Colleton County Full-Service Outpatient Pediatrics, Family Care, and Behavioral Health Facility project will provide the underserved patients, residing in the communities of Colleton, Allendale, and Hampton County, access to essential medical care, dental care, optometry services, and pharmaceutical services. This project will impact these communities by providing a long-term investment through a multi-million-dollar medical facility financed by GHC and remove barriers to the necessary healthcare services needed by the patients in these underserved communities. Additionally, this project will bring economic benefits by providing employment opportunities to members of the communities and educational benefits for students in need of clinical hours required for their degree or certificate.
