Pioneers Medical Center's (PMC) goal is to enhance the security infrastructure of our facility, as part of our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. We plan to achieve this by implementing Verkada interior and exterior dome security cameras, a standalone AXIS Camera Station S1148 Recorder NVR with 48 channels, wireless-based door lock sets from ASSA Abloy IP, and a Starlink satellite to ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity in the event of countywide broadband internet outages. As the largest employer in our county, we are committed to providing stability, strategic growth, and high-quality healthcare services. Despite the fact that many rural hospitals and clinics across the country are closing, we take pride in being a stable and reliable provider of healthcare services. Recently, we were recognized by the Becker's Hospital Review as one of the best hospitals for patient experience in the Western US. We are proud to be one of six facilities in Colorado, and the only Critical Access Hospital(CAH) on the list. CAHs are designated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide financial support and improve access to healthcare services in rural communities. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of the community we serve. Our cybersecurity project aligns with various Federal funding initiatives focused on cybersecurity, such as the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the DHS State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLGCP). These programs have allocated $1.85 billion and $1 billion respectively to support cybersecurity initiatives. According to GovTech Industry Navigator (July 2022), top cybersecurity initiatives for State, Local, and Educational entities (SLED) include data security, employee awareness training, cyber security risk assessment, disaster recovery/business continuity, cloud security, network security, and email security. Our proposed cybersecurity upgrades
will help us achieve these goals and enhance our overall security posture.
