Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending - Construction - This project—conducted by Looking Glass Community Services—is located at 620 E Whiteaker Avenue in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Looking Glass will improve the size, capacity, and services provided by our Rural Program drop-in center serving homeless youth and families in Cottage Grove. The drop-in center will move from a 500-square-foot facility to a 2,000-square-foot facility creating space for laundry, showers, food prep and storage, and an on-site behavioral health therapist. Construction involved in this project includes new plumbing, flooring, concrete work, landscaping, and electrical wiring. CDS/CPS funding will be used for site work needed to renovate the 2,000-squarte-foot facility so the drop-in center can begin operating out of this larger building and offer the additional services noted above. Our Rural Program drop-in center serves unhoused, runaway, impoverished, and at-risk youth and families in Cottage Grove, ages 11-21. In addition to the added services of this expansion project, the Rural Program offers basic needs, case management, employment guidance, and connections to other Looking Glass services including outpatient counseling, housing support, crisis support, and emergency shelter. Please contact the Looking Glass administration office at (541) 686-2688 for more information.
