In New Jersey, pediatric behavioral health continues to be a NJ Department of Health (NJDOH) topic of priority evidenced by strategies outlined in Healthy New Jersey 2030, New Jersey’s state health improvement plan. Healthy New Jersey 2030 is aligned with the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Healthy People 2030’s Leading Health Indicators (LDIs) which are driving the conversations that create the framework for access to quality healthcare, healthy communities, healthy families, healthy living and cross-cutting issues. Virtua Health is the behavioral health market share leader in Southern New Jersey, providing a broad continuum of services to adults, adolescents, and children. The cornerstone of this initiative is CASTLE (Children Achieving Success through Therapeutic Life Experiences) with two current locations – Camden, NJ, and Berlin, NJ. CASTLE - both offering comprehensive mental health services geared to help children who have emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric disorders. With HHS Congressionally Directed Facilities and/or Equipment Project funding, we will expand CASTLE’ s presence in Willingboro, NJ. supporting New Jersey’s efforts to build a culture of health and healthy equity for the most vulnerable residents in our state – our children. This project satisfies multiple LDIs that HHS identifies as Child and Adolescent Development descriptors – focusing on promoting healthy physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral development in children and adolescents.
