The SBCPHD serves a critical role by providing access to health care for the uninsured and underinsured through a county-wide network of Health Care Centers (HCCs) and homeless shelter-based clinics. The Lompoc Health Care Center (301 N R St, Lompoc, CA 93436 - LHCC) is a HRSA Clinic and is the flagship Federally Qualified Heath Care Center within the County of Santa Barbara Health Care System serving 8,600 individuals with over 35,000 patient visits annually. The facility site and buildings on the site are owned by the County of Santa Barbara. With the completion of this construction project, the facility will be expanded to increase capacity, operational flow, service delivery, and overall client experience. The enhanced physical connection will offer a safe, secure, and comfortable route to migrate between services provided in each area (Wellness Services, Primary Care Service, Laboratory Draw Station, Pharmacy), and all will have improved access to comfortable, safe waiting areas, offices, and services out of the elements of Lompoc City’s very hot, sometimes overly cool, and often very windy year-round climate. In addition to the enhanced physical connection, a critical generator will be added to support the Primary Care Center systems, IT infrastructure, and refrigerated medicines, including COVID-19 inoculations, in the event of a power outage or emergency. This critical generator addition will create and further enhance community health resilience in Lompoc. The generator install at the LHCC is “shovel ready”. Prior to this project, electrical work was implemented to have the building ready for a generator install at the switchbox.
