Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending - Construction - Flushing Hospital and Medical Center d/b/a Flushing Hospital Medical Center HRSA-22-134 – Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS): Construction Project Project Abstract Organization Name: Flushing Hospital and Medical Center d/b/a Flushing Hospital Medical Center Organization Organization Website Address: https://flushinghospital.org/ List of Grant Program Funds Requested: - HRSA Health Facilities Construction and Equipment Abstract Narrative (4,000 character limit): Flushing Hospital and Medical Center (FHMC) was awarded $750,000 to construct a new Women’s Imaging Suite that offers women in our community an easily accessible, state-of-art facility with imaging equipment to help promote early cancer detection and other diagnostic services that are essential to the promotion and preservation of women’s healthcare in our community. The new suite will include imaging equipment to perform 3D digital mammograms, stereotactic core biopsies, and high-resolution ultrasound exams, all provided in a private setting. Flushing Hospital and Medical Center has already secured funding to cover the cost of the equipment, but is requesting $750,000 in federal funding to cover the costs related to constructing this new space.
