Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending - Construction - William Byron Rumford Medical Clinic site, located in Berkeley, CA, temporarily closed since the on-set of the COVID-19 pandemic. We anticipate reopening this site, providing fully primary care services in quarter 1 of 2023. This health center occupies a square footage of 5,600 square feet and is a two-story building. Usage of funds will be focused on the first floor which houses the clinical area. Areas in need of attention are modernization of the entrance and lobby area of the building, patient designated bathrooms, replacement of carpet throughout the building, correct exit door, and repave the adjacent parking lot. East Oakland Health Center currently serves approximately 12-15% of our patients and is 15,000 square feet. Modernization, remodeling and renovation, to improve the air and water flow from and throughout the building, to reduce mildew and mold, and upgrade HVAC system. WOHC desires to expand its outreach to provide services to patients in the community through the acquisition of a mobile van. Our largest project would be to set funds aside to begin the planning phase for construction on our largest clinic, and the headquarters for our administrative offices which is the West Oakland Health Center. The draft budget outlined on the respective budget narrative and justification would be broken down as such: Total available funds - $1,250,000 • Mobile Van – w/wrap and other costs (insurance & registration) $150,000 • East Oakland modernization & upgrade $350,000 • Rumford modernization & upgrade $350,000 • Planning/development for new building at 700 Adeline $400,000
