Neither hospital currently employs a critical care physician on medical staff, though both operate on and care for critically ill patients in their communities. Through their partnership with OHSU, this project will allow both hospitals the ability to consult OHSU's critical care physicians and nurses 365/24/7 through secure video conferencing. The VICU hardware and software subscription services model will create connections to the Electronic Health Records and onsite patient monitoring equipment at each site and transmit that data to the OHSU VICU Patient Support Center, allowing for OHSU critical care teams to support and deliver real-time proactive patient care management. Establishing VICUs will allow OHSU's critical care team to continuously monitor patients in both hospitals through audiovisual equipment, track patient vital signs, and provide actionable and predictive analytics based on those data elements. This project will strengthen the capacity of these two community hospitals in underserved areas to care for critically ill patients, while allowing those patients to stay in their local communities as they receive the care they need. The total funding request is $942,300. This represents the Year 1 operating cost for all three sites, with the breakdown of costs per site as follows. Costs are comprised of one-time initiating expense for necessary IT infrastructure, equipment installation and EHR data connectivity; vendor-provided (GE Healthcare) recurring monthly software site licensing; and a recurring monthly fee per ICU beds covered (based on *ADC+1) per site for the OHSU cl
inical services provided from the VICU Patient Support Center. *ICU Average Daily Census +1 1.
