PROJECT ABSTRACT Goals of Project The New Hampshire Insurance Department (“NHID”) intends to use the grant funds from the Consumer Assistance Program Grants to: (1) expand both the capacity and scope of consumer assistance services offered by NHID through the addition of a new Health Insurance Consumer Advocate and by contracting with two separate non-profit entities to provide consumer education and outreach services; (2) provide consumer assistance services in a manner that is independent and focused exclusively on advocacy on behalf of the consumer; and (3) coordinate consumer assistance services with other State agencies and consumer advocacy groups, and the recommendations of an advisory committee. Use of Grant Funds The grant will be used primarily to: (i) provide the resources to initially fund the new Health Insurance Consumer Advocate position within the NHID; (ii) enter into one or more subcontracts with two third-party, non-profit organizations for consumer education and out
