Project Abstract: Consumer Assistance Program Grant The State of Iowa seeks the Consumer Assistance Program Grant in order to enhance consumer healthcare services offered in the State of Iowa (“the State”). Though the program will require the collaboration of a number of state agencies, the lead agency for the grant is the Iowa Insurance Division (“the Division”). The requested federal grant funds would be used for the Division’s Consumer Advocate Bureau (“the Bureau). The enhanced services would include all of the grant program’s required activities for funding, including but not limited to: assisting consumers with complaints (including appeals), educating consumers on their health insurance rights and responsibilities, assisting consumers with enrollment, and providing objective statistical data and information to the Department of Health and Human Services.
