AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) - CONSUMER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANTS - PROJECT ABSTRACT-CONSUMER ASSISTANCE GRANT The goal of this project is to assist Montana consumers with filing complaints and appeals, to assist consumers with health coverage enrollment, and to educate consumers on their rights and responsibilities regarding their coverage. In addition, new data on consumer inquiries and complaints will be collected and reported to the Secretary of Health and Human Services in order to identify problems in the marketplace and strengthen enforcement. This grant request is for $181,242.00. The Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, Office of the Montana State Auditor (CSI) is responsible for the regulation of all types of insurance and is expressly required in law ?to ensure that the interests of insurance consumers are protected.? The CSI has been assisting and educating consumers for over 100 years.
