Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) - Little River Medical Center (LRMC) proposes using CARE funds to undertake (3) projects: Project 01: A/R at Little River Medical Center: 4303 Live Oak Drive Little River, SC 29566 This A/R project includes equipment and renovation to install a new dental operatory that will allow LRMC to expand its dental services and provide dental to an increased number of patients. Moveable replacement equipment and furnishings are also budgeted for worn and outdated items. This project also includes equipment to update/improve the security and communication system throughout the health center. Updates and improvements to the health center security and communications systems (cameras, new wiring, speakers, and alarms) will greatly improve LRMC’s response in a disaster with an enhanced ability to communicate with patients and staff, alert all to immediate or urgent communications, and post regular updates to all, streamlining the efficacy of communications. Project 02: A/R at Carolina Forest: Little River Medical Center at Carolina Forest 4220 Carolina Exchange Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 LRMC will add (2) dental operatories and (1) dental office space to an existing third floor by renovating a current conference room to expand dental services. Moveable replacement equipment and furnishings are also budgeted for worn and outdated items. The project will also add new speakers, cameras, and install updated communications equipment to the health center communications and security systems, allowing for health center wide emergency alerts, updates, paging, connectivity to emergency alarms, and other messaging systems. Project 03: Construction/Expansion (C/E) at Loris: LRMC - Loris Site 3817 Main St Loris, SC 29569-3017 LRMC will replace 1,719 square feet of carpeting with luxury vinyl flooring and add a new power transfer switch. Moveable replacement equipment and furnishings are also budgeted for worn and outdated items. The project will also add new speakers, cameras, and install updated communications equipment to the health center communications and security systems, allowing for health center wide emergency alerts, updates, paging, connectivity to emergency alarms, and other messaging systems. The C/E project will reconfigure existing parking lot to add spaces, increase safety, and improve the flow of traffic. The existing parking lot at Loris will be repaved and re-designed, to add several spaces, including (1) handicapped space, and to redirect the flow of traffic. Pharmacy patients will now enter and exit separately from other patients. This will increase parking lot safety for all patients.
