Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) - Our proposal includes the installation of a new TPO roofing system and a transfer switch system at two different sites. This will entail the following: Roof: Replacing the tar roof with a new TPO roofing system over the course of one to two months Thermal moisture scan to ensure effective installation Removal of any damaged or wet insulation Removing and re-placing all HVAC systems Flash all tall entrance parapet walls up 18” with proper flashing and install a surface mounted counter flashing per manufacturer’s details new TPO walkway pads around all AC unit curbs and roof hatch Fabricate and install all new gutters, down spouts, gravel stop, and counter flashing. All material to be 24 gauge pre-finished galvanized standard color to match existing as close as possible (Colonial Red). Transfer switch system: Furnish and install 600A generator cable docking station (affixed to exterior wall) Intercept existing feeders/install new feeders (affixed to exterior wall) Install controls, power, and annunciator Poured concrete pads for transfer switch and docking station Project Management This project will be managed by Thomas Van Pelt, COO. This project will be installed by a third party. Though TFHC is intending to have a bidding process, we also have a contractor that we often use, ARCO Murray. We will be making them go through a bidding process along with 3-5 other potential contractors. The method of construction will be left to the chosen contractor Timeline We do not anticipate the planning phase of this project to take long, we have already received satisfactory quotes within budget, and will have bidding to determine if there are any reputable cheaper options, but this will be a simple operation otherwise. We will have our builder chosen within 60 days of the notice of the award, and they will begin construction as soon as possible. The only required permitting will be on the side of the builders which are fully qualified to undertake the operations. Our environmental obligations are negligible, considering we are not affecting the landscape at all, and our historic obligations are nonexistent. There is little to no design happening in the course of this project. We anticipate being finished with our storm preparedness project before the next hurricane season strikes our state (June 2024).
