Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) - Suncoast Community Health Centers, Inc. (SCHC) is proposing one Construction of a New Facility project under the Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) funding. The new facility will be a 24,077 square foot, two-story medical office located on the southeast corner of East College Avenue and 15th Street in Ruskin Florida, just 1.7 miles away from the current health center. This facility will replace the current Ruskin Health Center, which is over 40 years old. This project will increase SCHC’s capacity and capability to provide high quality primary care services to the underserved population under normal circumstances as well as during and after natural disasters. The total SCHC project cost is $9,109,775. This application requests $490,000 to support the total construction cost. The remaining $8,619,775 will be paid directly by SCHC out of funds on hand. SCHC is anticipating to break ground in October of 2023 and plans to complete the project by October 2024. SCHC will submit a Change in Scope in the EHBs within 120 days of date expected to see first patient.
