Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) - The proposed project represents a significant step towards enhancing access to essential primary and preventive health care services in Apopka, Florida. By expanding the operational capacity of the existing Apopka Family and Women's Health Center, the community will experience benefits that will positively impact their well-being. Renovation plans reconfiguring the Apopka Family and Women's Center, which houses various departments and facilities. This renovation will enable the center to accommodate a larger number of patients and enhance the quality of care provided to the community. The project includes the creation of dedicated offices for a Behavioral Health provider and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, complete with a separate waiting area. This development recognizes the importance of mental/behavioral health support and ensures that confidential care is available. Plans entail optimizing the existing footprint of the center. Five exam rooms, formerly designated for Women's Health, will be repurposed as Family Practice rooms, thereby increasing the capacity to serve individuals in need of primary care services. These changes reflect a strategic reallocation of resources to address the evolving healthcare needs of the community effectively. Recognizing the impact of an increased patient and staff population, the overall project includes an expansion of the parking area. By relocating and expanding the parking area, the center aims to accommodate the growing number of patients and staff members, ensuring convenience and accessibility for all. The proposed project not only focuses on physical renovation but also encompasses crucial infrastructure enhancements. Corresponding improvements to the electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, exterior windows, roofing, and lightning protection systems will be included in the scope of the project. These upgrades are vital for providing a safe, comfortable, and efficient healthcare environment for both patients and staff. The renovation plans outlined in this proposal demonstrate the commitment of the Apopka Family and Women's Health Center to significantly improve the accessibility and quality of primary and preventive health care services. By expanding crucial departments, creating specialized facilities, and enhancing infrastructure, the center will be better equipped to meet the healthcare needs of the community, resulting in a substantial and lasting positive impact on the well-being of Apopka residents.
