Maniilaq Association has been the sole provider of Health, Social, and Tribal services for the twelve communities it serves since 1980. Programs which serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault include the Maniilaq Family Crisis Center which provides services for victims of domestic violence, the Child Advocacy Center, and the Maniilaq Forensic Nursing Services Program which serves both adult and child victims of sexual assault. Though each of these programs was created to fill a specific vital need in the community, better coordination among them is needed to serve clients and families experiencing intimate partner violence. Under this application, Maniilaq Association requests FY22 Domestic Violence Prevention funds to contract with a consulting firm. With assistance from a consultant, the Forensic Nursing Services Program will complete a community needs assessment and strategic planning, with the intent of better integration and coordination among existing victim services. In addition, a new Education / Outreach Coordinator will be hired to coordinate with the consulting agency during Project Year 1, then participate in community outreach and education on intimate partner violence across the lifespan for the remainder of the project.
