ENIPC, Inc. PeaceKeepers (PeaceKeepers) Domestic Violence Program has been in existence since July 1992 and has worked to provide comprehensive services aimed at increasing victim safety and protection; promoting community education and awareness about the impacts of violence on families and communities; providing services to victims and their families; and addressing offender accountability. With proposed DVPP funding PeaceKeepers will address prevention initiatives in the following: domestic and sexual violence, including sexual exploitation/human trafficking, Missing and Murdered AI/AN people, and child maltreatment. With DVPP funding PeaceKeepers will address the following topics: Domestic Violence 101; Trauma Informed Care; Healthy Relationship Behaviors and Warning signs of Abuse; Coping and problem solving skills; Parental use of reasoning to resolve conflict; Empowerment; Consent, Reproductive Coercion; Child Maltreatment; SOAR for Native Communities; Sexual Exploitation/Human Trafficking in Indian Country; Educational Awareness addressing Missing and Murdered AI/AN people, including community-based trainings that highlight at-risk groups and protection and prevention activities with a focus on ambiguous and traumatic loss; and other topics of domestic and sexual violence identified at the Coordinated Community Response meetings as issues in the eight northern pueblos. Throughout the grant period CCR meetings will be held to foster a cross system collaboration, share resources, improve response time, and assist to develop policies, protocols, and procedures that improve local interagency coordination. DVPP funding will be used to expand knowledge to PeaceKeepers staff to better serve survivors that include people with disabilities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people; all genders; child maltreatment; and sexual exploitation/human trafficking survivors. PeaceKeepers will utilize the SOAR on-line modules, as well as contacting the National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center to train staff, service providers, and community members. With DVPP funding, ENIPC, Inc. PeaceKeepers will create a project model that focuses on domestic and sexual violence, child maltreatment, and sexual exploitation/human trafficking prevention strategies. The proposed project compliments other ENIPC, Inc. PeaceKeepers projects without duplicating efforts. ENIPC, Inc. does not have a program that directly focuses on domestic and sexual violence, child maltreatment, and sexual exploitation/human trafficking prevention strategies. Therefore, DVPP funding will greatly benefit the eight northern pueblos and surrounding communities. The goals of the requested DVPP funding are consistent with the priorities of ENIPC, Inc.’s Board of Governors.
