The proposed project will: (1) systematically review the research funded by the Adolescent Family Life (AFL) program; (2) suggest a new research agenda; (3) explore more current or emerging topics; and (4) consider the ramifications for the AFL demonstration program of the AFL research agenda that will be suggested. . In Phase One, both the methodological quality and the content of the reports from the AFL-funded studies will be reviewed and summarized. The framework for the content analysis will be factors leading to early, premarital sexuality among women and men and to early premarital pregnancy; male involvement; the consequences of teenage parenting for women, men, families, and communities; the impact of teenage parenting on child well-being; the utilization of services by sexually active, pregnant, and parenting teenagers; and adoption..
