Through the proposed SOT program LFS promotes healing and recovery for primary and secondary survivors of torture (SOT) through holistic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed services, thus empowering the SOT to rebuild their lives, be empowered, and thrive. LFS provides medical, psychological, social, and legal services including comprehensive assessments and personal wellness planning, strengths-based trauma informed case management, referral provision, and other services available and as needed to 50 eligible survivors of torture per year.In addition, LFS works to improve services available to SOT by creating a sustainable network of culturally competent providers who can effectively identify and provide evidence-based and alternative services to torture survivors in need. Towards this end, LFS provides training, mentoring, and case review to professionals and the community at large.
