Power to the Infant and Toddler Profession: Implications for Access to High-Quality Care and Education Nationally and in Washington, DC - Limited research is available on the supply of and demand for high quality ECE for each state and nationally the factors associated with family preferences and the types of preferred infant and toddler ECE and the outcomes of efforts to improve ECE quality on the supply and demand for infant and toddler ECE. This project examines supply, demand, and policy strategies related to high-quality infant and toddler ECE nationally and in one locality. The study will describe state-level demand, costs, and expansion strategies; analyze national survey data to understand parents’ preferences and use of ECE; and conduct an in-depth case study of one locality's ECE initiatives. The goal is to produce state-by-state evidence and case study findings that inform policies to expand access to high-quality infant and toddler care.
