" The YMCA of the North is a non-profit 501(c)(3).attached)" Need: To support the expansion of Enough. program for domestic victims of human trafficking, in the Twin Cities identified a top 10 area for human trafficking in the U.S. Enough. has a proven history of increasingly successful outcomes through effective, evidence-based programs and services for youth (up to age 26) facing barriers, including youth facing homelessness or involved with the juvenile justice system and/or foster care systems.
Proposed Outcomes, Strategies, and Data Sources by Objective
Objective 1 Scale up our comprehensive, case management and services for domestic victims of human trafficking for youth (up to age 26) victims in Anoka, Carver, Dakota Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties in Minnesota.
Outcomes: Screen 1,000 victims of trafficking (3,000 over project time-line)
Strategies: Referrals from partners; Add outreach Youth Support Specialists. Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Low-barrier Entry, and intake; and partnerships to ensure provision of wrap-around services.
Objective 2 Enhance and implement outreach, referral protocols, and processes to identify and refer victims of human sexual trafficking to the Enough. program. (and a warm hand-off for victims not qualified for our program, or prefer other).Provide intensive case management, services and resources for youth who choose to participate.
Outcomes: 300 (60 per year) Domestic victims of trafficking have access to person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate services that improve their safety, and increase their engagement in early intervention, prevention, and education services that are designed to build safety, improve self-sufficiency, and resolve trauma and will participate in 1:1 intensive case management.
Objective 3 Provide four targeted trainings per year for program partners and other juvenile justice and foster care system professionals (20 trainings over the project period).
Outcomes: Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the effects of trauma victims of trafficking, practical ideas in working with young people at risk, and tangible techniques to improve the quality of services.
Strategies: Provide focused trainings on the effects of trauma on young people, how to identify and intervene with youth at-risk, roles of law enforcement and systems professionals, and how to refer to the Enough. program.
Objective 4 Maintain /work with the Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Youth Advisory Board, program youth hired for their expertise to inform and provide input to program, approach, initiatives, and tactics for identification of victims to further the work.
Outcomes: Paid opportunity for eight youth,. Strategies: Youth Victims/Survivors provide perspective and expertise to issues and barriers for identification, approach, programs, and resources to continually improve outcomes for domestic victims of human trafficking.
